Dr. Kristin Doyle is a licensed doctor of audiology with nearly 10 years of experience treating patients and teaching audiology doctoral students. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology (F-AAA) and is board certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association [ASHA (CCC/A)]. Dr. Kristin attended West Virginia University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology and went on to earn her Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) degree from Towson University in Maryland. Dr. Kristin’s practical training was obtained in a variety of clinical and hospital settings in Washington DC and Baltimore, MD, and concluded with an internship at The Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Even as a child, Kristin knew that she wanted to find a profession where she could help people every day; and she found her calling while attending college at WVU. “I originally wanted to be a speech pathologist, until my first audiology class which taught me that current statistics estimate 30 million Americans suffer from hearing loss and of those, only 1/3 actually do something about it” she recalls. “In that same class, I also learned that individuals with untreated hearing loss were 3 times more likely to develop dementia or Alzheimer’s.” She notes, “Both of my grandmothers suffered from dementia and when I learned that I could help others prevent the onset of these degenerative diseases through early detection and intervention, I found my true purpose and mission in audiology.”
Dr. Kristin states that her favorite moments at work are the expressions of joy and excitement on a patient’s face when he or she can finally hear their loved ones’ voices again. She strives to help as many people as possible break down communication barriers and to keep her patients’ minds sharp through auditory cognitive therapy.
Dr. Kristin takes pride in treating her patients like family, listening to each individual’s story and tailoring their hearing care to meet their unique needs. She recently moved to Columbus to be closer to her family and will be seeing patients most days at our Circleville office.
Areas of expertise include: Diagnostic hearing tests; hearing aid evaluation and consultation; hearing aid fitting and adjustment; fitting verification via live speechmapping and speech-in-noise testing; group and individual aural rehabilitation; and tinnitus evaluation, counseling and management.
Outside of the office, Dr. Kristin enjoys hiking, kayaking and going to the dog park with her puppy, Sansa. She enjoys attending her nephews’ school and sports events, going to Zumba and other dance classes, and spending time with friends and family.
